Hello everyone and Welcome to FinchGuy.com.
My name is Joe, also known as the finch guy. I have been raising Zebras since my grandfather gave me my 1st pair back in about 1984. Everything was just normal Zebras up until a few years ago when I started raising the rarer mutations. I've built my own bird room to accommodate my growing flock size. It is very well insulated and climate controlled. Even with the ice cold Wisconsin winters, my birds stay comfortable all year round. In the bird room I have 20 breeder cages, 6 medium flights, and 2 large flights. All breeding takes place in the breeder cages. Only 1 pair per cage so I have strict control over everything produced. I let each pair raise about 3 clutches a year. After the 3rd clutch, the adults are put into the flight cages for rest, exercise, and plenty of socialization. All birds are banded, and records are kept for every bird. I can go back 3 or more generations to show you what this bird's parents looked like, grandparents, and so-forth. I usually always have some Society Finches producing for me, and just recently, added some Lady Gouldians. I have Canaries, and various other finches too, but just a few compared to the Zebras. My youngest has a pair of parakeets, and the wife has her Green Cheek Conure, Joony. So if its just one bird, or a hundred, don't miss out on the way they can brighten your day, everyday. Thanks for the visit, and come back soon.
